Consul’s Residence
Designed by a Brazilian architect, displays a unique light repleted character. The house is located at the historic Ponta Delgada´s downtown.
It was once the temporary USA consul's official residence. Later on, it was leased for 14 years to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons). Mass was held at the house living room, the altar was at its southeast corner.
The house was purchased and totally refurbished by the current owners in 2000 and has been assigned to short term rentals after 2016. You will find a modern, spacious, all the rooms and living room newly climatized home. The house is perfect for families with a surrounding luxurious garden featuring a tall maidenhair tree and has a new fully equipped outdoor grill since 2019.
From the top floor balcony, you can enjoy the view of downtown Ponta Delgada and the Atlantic Ocean. The house driveway takes on up to 3 cars. Downtown, Mall (with supermarket and pharmacy) and two botanical gardens all within a ten-minute walk range.

We had a wonderful stay at Pedro's place. It was the perfect home for our family gathering, with plenty of space to relax, cook and share meals together. It was much warmer than we expected, as we came in December. Each room has a heater and the beds are very comfortable. We look forward to another visit soon!
This is a beautiful home, sparkling clean, excellently maintained, in a very convenient location close to restaurants, shops, town , highway, and has parking on site. The kitchen is fully equipped and very spacious. There is an outdoor kitchen that as a cooktop, grill and sink, and is a lovely spot for breakfast or dinner. There are 5 large bedrooms, 2.5 baths, lots of space. We were 7 people and it never felt crowded. Overall we had great experience with Pedro, and would definitely stay here again.
Pedro and Cristina were kind and thoughtful hosts! Their house is beautiful, comfortable, well equipped, and in a great location near down town. Even with a bit of confusion and misunderstanding on my part about the check in time and procedure, Pedro was accommodating and rescheduled his time to meet me later than scheduled. I would recommend this house to anyone and would consider staying there again.
Pedro was a gracious and kind host who made us feel welcome and was easily accessible if we had a question or concern. The house is in a great location within easy walking distance of a shopping mall, the downtown area, museums, historic sights, and several restaurants. There is parking if you rent a car. There was plenty of space and 3 bathrooms for our group of 8 women off on a 'ladies get away.' We all agree it was a great trip!
Beautiful home well situated within walking distance to Ponta Delgada and the shopping center, Parque Antlantico. Pedro, was easily reached by email or telephone. Our group tremendously appreciated the beautiful outdoor kitchen with grill. We sat there every day! Guest will also appreciate the air conditioning in the bedrooms, a must in the Sao Miguel weather. Little things, such as, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, toilet paper etc. were the most appreciated as I have been to Airbnb where none of this was included. I highly recommend.
